Updating VSAM using PIDE

Instructions e Requisites

To update the VSAM firmware and configuration you must install PIDE (an IDE from Planeta to run scripts on various readers).

You also need the VSAM inserted in a Reader (like SCR916 from Planeta or a PC/SC reader).

The reader must be plugged on a USB port and you have to be connected to Internet to download PIDE and during the Update process (the new firmware and configuration will be downloaded from our servers).

Downloading PIDE

To download PIDE access the page: PIDE (planeta.inf.br) then click on Install button and follow the instructions on the screen.

Accessing PIDE

After installation, access the Start menu and go to Planeta Informática LTDA/PIDE. Click on PIDE to execute the program.

Using PIDE to Update a VSAM

To update the VSAM, follow the steps below:

1 – On PIDE Main Screen click on Tools / SAM Update to see the screen:

2 – Click on Select SAM Slot and and select the desired Slot (some readers have more than one slot, as presented in the image above)

3 – Click on SAM Update Server 

4 – In the Server Address and Server Port fields you must fill the Address and Port of your SMS Local if you have one, if not, leave the Server Address = samupdate.planeta.inf.br and Server Port = 5049. 

5 – Click on <Update> button to start update process

6 – The process can take from 20 seconds to 4 minutes depending on the changes that you be made to the VSAM

7 - In the  update screen you can see the result of update process:
