Firmware Update

Before Start


1 - Download the ZIP file PI-UP.zip (program to change the firmware) and RC700_PRJ-X0002-X0205-_20220802 163735.BIN.apdu  (firmware) from this article

2 - Unzip the PI-UP.zip file to a known location

3 - Save the firmware file to the same location


RC700 – Firmware Update

1 – Connect and install the reader on the computer.

2 – Open the application RC700Up.exe from the folder where you saved:

3 – Select the firmware file .APDU from the Software folder by clicking on the icon from the Firmware field:

4 – Place a contactless card over the RC700 reader and press the Update Reader, confirm the message to proceed with the update:

5 – The reader update will start, please wait until it finishes. Do not remove the

contactless card during the update process:

6 – After the process completion this screen will be presented:

7 – Wait 15 seconds and press the Update Reader button again to make sure the

firmware was updated, answer NO to avoid double updating the reader:


Troubleshooting

1 – The program complains about not being able to connect to the reader:

Due to smartcard API restrictions we can only connect to a reader that has a valid smartcard in it. Use any Mifare card like Classic, Ultralight, Desfire or Plus.


2 – Reader not found error:


Ensure the reader is connected and installed correctly inside the operating system
